Abstract Autumn Berries

Abstract painting scares me, but I want to keep trying. Today I saw a lovely picture of some blueberries and I got the idea of using the same colors and approximate value pattern to create an abstract in watercolor. Even if the results are not outstanding, I had fun doing it most of today. It took a lot of time in the planning and completion.

Welcome to Barbara's Sketch Book and Photo Album!

At last! My own personal place to show off my work and speak my mind. This is like a giant refrigerator for me, where I can paste up my daily sketches. No, they are not great sketches, but to me they are memorable. I'm a student artist. This blogspot will be my incentive to keep working and growing in my fine art skills. My goal is to post daily, or almost daily sketches. Sometimes I may post small format paintings or even larger works. My best work is in pastel portraits, but you won't see many of them here. When I get lazy with sketching, I will probably be out snapping pictures for possible photo reference. I aim for good composition as well as interesting content in my snapshots.
