We played around today, making abstract paintings. These are the ones I didn't turn in today. Two more are on the instructor's desk.
This one doesn't have a name. The one below is called "Spring Thing."
I was noticing the way some pigments push other pigments around and, because that dark patch seemed to be getting pushed around, I called it "Leave Me Alone." It took me into one of my dark sulking moods when I am thinking (if not saying) "Leave me alone!"
Below is one of my two favorite picks, with the other having been turned in for a grade. I love letting the colors flow together. The colors actually were not dark enough to meet one of the instructor's wishes, but it is still a nice, simple composition.
