This pastel painting is waiting for the finishing touches. I started it last week while my friend, Rebecca, and I were in a pastel studio class. I learned something about painting water and leaves. Thursday morning I should learn more about detailing the bark. Barry, our instructor has been encouraging us to use some vibrant colors. I'm trying, but it is much easier with his years of skill and expertise. The photo reference for this painting was shot along the river walk in Marshall, Michigan.
