Hamilton, Indiana Area Observations

Driving along country roads is a favorite pastime while vacationing in the Midwest. Pictured here are some of the interesting finds on this day of our journey.

One farm had a variety of stone walls and field markers that must have taken a long time to build. One wall had the artist's name included among the field stones.

The log cabin pictured below has been reclaimed from a previous remodel with siding. I used to see a lot of lightening rods on farm homes like this one.

Is that a squirrel, chipmonk or a rat in a tree?

This turkey buzzard carefully guarded his prey as we drove by and snapped pictures.

Teasel, like the brown seed heads in this picture, grow abundantly along the roadsides. They are sometimes gathered to include in cemetery wreaths.
