There's That Old Truck Again

OK, OK - it's not perfect. I was just playing around with opaque paint on panel that was primed for pastels. I kind of like the effect, though the primer really soaks up the paint. I had to go over it several times. It has a clear protective coating on it now.

Welcome to Barbara's Sketch Book and Photo Album!

At last! My own personal place to show off my work and speak my mind. This is like a giant refrigerator for me, where I can paste up my daily sketches. No, they are not great sketches, but to me they are memorable. I'm a student artist. This blogspot will be my incentive to keep working and growing in my fine art skills. My goal is to post daily, or almost daily sketches. Sometimes I may post small format paintings or even larger works. My best work is in pastel portraits, but you won't see many of them here. When I get lazy with sketching, I will probably be out snapping pictures for possible photo reference. I aim for good composition as well as interesting content in my snapshots.
